Certify your skills with the MEC program

Have you taught with Moodle LMS or Moodle Workplace™ ? Have you already completed a Moodle course on Moodle Academy or training with a Certified Partners and Service Provider? If so, then consider certifying your skills with the Moodle Educator Certification (MEC) program. The program has been significantly revised at the beginning of 2024, with both content and assessment types being updated to take into account the impact of AI in education. Our Partner translators are continuously working on updating the content so candidates can continue to take the certification in languages other than English. What’s new?

Creating TinyMCE Plugins course has been launched.

In this intermediate level course for developers, you will learn about the process of creating TinyMCE editor plugins for Moodle. You will build a plugin using generated skeleton code and learn how to add a button to the TinyMCE toolbar, create menu items within your plugin, and configure settings to tailor the plugin to your specific needs. The course includes hands-on coding exercises to create two TinyMCE plugins. Enrol in the course.

Introduction to Open Source course has been launched.

In this beginner level course, you will learn what open source is, how platforms and communities make up the open source landscape, the benefits of contributing to open source, and how to get started. Enrol in the course.

Moodle Plugins Directory Review Process - Wed 7th August, 08:00 UTC.

The Moodle Plugins directory contains over 2000 plugins developed and maintained by the Moodle community. In this webinar, we will hear from Dan Marsden of Catalyst IT, NZ, who is a long-time Moodle Plugins guardian. This webinar will cover the process that a plugin goes through when a developer submits their plugin to the Plugins directory, the checks that the plugin goes through, common mistakes made by plugin developers and what you can do to prepare your plugin for review. We will also cover how you can contribute to the review process by testing and reviewing other contributions to the Plugins directory. Register for the webinar.
