About Moodle Plugin Development Basics

This free, self-paced course is designed to help you understand the basics of Moodle plugin development. If you complete it, you will receive a badge and can optionally purchase a certificate. You should have some experience of PHP web applications, HTML, JavaScript, SQL queries and general web application principles such as HTTP.

We recommend you complete the Moodle Teaching Basics and Moodle Admin Basics courses prior to starting this course.


Overview of the course

The course is divided into eleven sections, which you can complete in your own time. We suggest you spend between 16 and 28 hours working through the materials. You will need your own development machine to run your test Moodle installation on. It is not possible to use a MoodleCloud site for this course.
